چکیده

Ion beam cancer therapy (IBCT, or hadron therapy) represents an effective method for providing high-dose delivery into tumours, thereby maximizing the probability of killing the cancer cells whilst simultaneously minimizing the radiation damage to surrounding healthy tissue [2]. Despite its high cost, proton-beam therapy is widely spread around the world with over 60 operational centres [3]. The electronic interactions lead to the ejection of a vast quantity of secondary species, including secondary electrons and free radicals [4].
